Family Treatment Court Operational Tune -Up.

Training Dates: March 12-13, 2020

Training Time: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Location: Macon, Georgia

Training Description

The Family Treatment Court Operational Tune -up training is facilitated by the National Drug Court Institute. The  team based training will allow court team members the opportunity to assess current practice, identify the strengths of the program, determine gaps and challenges the team is currently facing and develop a plan to strategically address the goals set. The training experience and ability to apply the information presented will be enhanced by the attendance of as many team members as possible. The training requires the attendance of each core team members because of their day-to-day responsibilities within the accountability Court. Up to 12 team members per court can attend. The core FTC team members are identified below:

  1. Judge
  2. Program Coordinator
  3. Special Assistant Attorney General (SAAG)
  4. Parent Attorney
  5. Child Attorney
  6. Prosecuting Attorney 
  7. Defense Attorney
  8. Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS)
  9. Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) or other child advocate
  10. Community Policing Officer or Surveillance Officer
  11. Case Manager
  12. Treatment Provider or Substance Abuse Professional 

Before Registering: 

Before registering your court team members must agree to the following:  

  1. All team members must attend each full day of the training. 
  2. The coordinator should complete all  pre- training requirements requested within timeline to NDCI and CACJ.
    1. Registration of each team member
    2. Reserving lodging accommodations (if applicable) before deadline.
    3. Provide requested program details and information to NDCI by deadline
  3. The accountability court must be operational for at least 3 years before they are eligible to attend.

To Register:

To register for this training, coordinators should print and sign the appropriate registration form.  Once signed, the registration form needs to be uploaded to the registration link on the right side of the web page by 5:00pm December 13, 2019.  

Logistics & Reimbursements:

  • Mileage traveled to the training venue is reimbursable based on the State of Georgia travel policy. 
  • Overnight reservations are provided by CACJ for team members traveling more than 50 miles (one-way) to the training venue.
  • Breakfast and lunch are provided by CACJ at the venue. Non provided meals are reimbursable based on the State of Georgia travel policy.

Registration closes December 13, 2019.

Please note, limited space is available and only a specific number of courts will be selected for the training. A confirmation of attendance will be sent out via e-mail to the program coordinator no later than December 20, 2019.  The confirmation of attendance will include the training location and details to register individual team members.
