Felony Drug Court Operational Tune Up

Training Description

The Adult Felony Drug Court Operational Tune Up training facilitated by the National Drug Court Institute will allow court team members the opportunity to assess current practice, identify the strengths of the program, determine gaps and challenges the team is currently facing and develop a plan to strategically address the goals set. The training experience and ability to apply the information presented will be enhanced by the attendance of as many team members as possible. 

The training requires the attendance of each core team member because of their day-to-day responsibilities within the accountability Court. Up to 9 team members per team can attend. The core team members are identified below:

  • Judge 
  • Prosecutor
  • Coordinator
  • Treatment Provider
  • Defense Attorney
  • Law Enforcement Officer
  • Probation Officer
  • Case Manager and/or Evaluator

Each core team member is required to attend, without a commitment from the team roles listed it is unlikely the team will be accepted to attend the training. 

  • Breakfast and lunch are provided at the training venue. 
  • Lodging is provided  for registered and approved attendees by CACJ. Attendees work location must be more than 50 miles from the training venue to be eligible for lodging provided by CACJ.
  • Attendee mileage (please carpool when possible), parking, and non provided meals are reimbursable through the grant (CJCC SER).

Court program team members must agree to the following:  

  • All team members listed must attend each full day of the training. 
  • Complete any pre- training requirements requested within timeline.Registration of each team member using the NDCI and CACJ portals. 
  • Complete mandatory pre-training surveys and conference calls coordinated by NDCI (National Drug Court Institute).
  • Provide NDCI with requested program materials (policy handbooks, etc) by requested deadlines. 
  • Providing lodging accommodations (if applicable) before deadline.
  • The accountability court program must be operational for at least 3 years before it is eligible to attend. Eligible teams may not have not attended an operational tune up since FY16.

To register for this training, coordinators should print and sign the registration agreement form below.  Once signed, the registration form needs to be uploaded to the GREEN registration link on the right side of the web page by June 25, 2019.

Please note, only a limited number courts will be selected for the training, a confirmation of  training attendance will be sent out via e-mail no later than July 12, 2019. A second adult felony drug court operational tune up training is planned for March 2020 in Macon, Georgia for eligible teams.
